Again

Again,
I need to forgive myself
Just enough
To allow words to creep through
The tiny crack in my heart
That knows
Wholeness.

As I gasp for air, I can allow something to emerge
Like a lone survivor
Tattered from battle, starvation and despair
But alive.
Emerging from the sewers of self
Alive in its mere aliveness.
Nothing more.
Here.
