‘Poetry is a Form of Dissent’: Simon Armitage

“Poetry has always had a complex relationship with language” – Simon Armitage

In an interview with The Guardian’s John Harris, Simon Armitage explores why poetry is a form of dissent, how it has always had a relationship with language on its own terms, and discusses some of his own work. Armitage acknowledges that there is a vast amount of unnoticed, good poetry out there, which leaves us to question: Where are those poets? Where do we find their works?
