Kathleen Flenniken, the author of ‘Famous’, has become the second poet laureate of the Washington state, United States, after suceeding Samuel Green.
A Seattle resident, she is also the president of the Floating Bridge Press. For a poet laureate who was trained as an engineer, this is an inspiring example of how creativity and the arts are hidden, residing in many people irrespective of their academic backgrounds or professions.
Her next book, ‘Plume’, is slated for publication in February 2012 by the University of Washington Press.
